Speaking Out with Alex Chalekian

Episode 86: Speaking Out with Alex Chalekian

Our special guest is Alex Chalekian, founder and CEO of Lake Avenue Financial and ally and believer in women. In his words, “it’s important for women to have a voice in this industry and to be able to do the things that they should be able to do!”

Alex started a universal dialogue around solving female harassment by notably speaking up against Ken Fisher who made controversial remarks at one particular fireside chat at the Tiburon CEO Summit. Since then, he penned a processes to report and address harassment and his selfless and important work continues today.

A few highlights:

10:24: How Alex got started buying and selling stocks when he was only 18 years old.

15:18: The specific personality of those who thrive in financial services.

19:54: How women are “the most successful financial planners I’ve ever seen in our industry.”

21:47: Why notoriously standing up and boldly voicing an opinion is not an option.
